Predestination
The doctrine Presbyterians are famous (or infamous) for! Does God really control everything? Do we have free will? Why should I evangelize if God has already decided who will be saved?

Sola Scriptura
Does this mean the Bible is our only authority? No! But it DOES mean Scripture is the unique and authoritative witness to Jesus Christ!

Sola Fide
Does this mean works aren't necessary for salvation? No! But it does mean that all who trust in Jesus as their Lord and Savior can have assurance of salvation and peace with God!

Apostolic Succession
Many denominations believe you need a chain of Bishops going back to the Apostles to be a "real" church. Do Presbyterians believe that? Yes and no.

Presbyterian government
What does the word "Presbyterian" mean? It refers to the way we run our churches. "Presbyter" means "elder" because our churches are run by councils of elders. We believe all leaders in the church are equal and nobody is head of the Church but Christ!

Sacraments
Are Sacraments necessary for salvation? Actually yes! How does that work with the idea of salvation by faith alone? Read to find out!

Baptism
Does baptism save? Should we baptize babies? Presbyterians think so! Read to find out why both of these ideas are what Scripture teaches.

Lord's Supper
Presbyterians do NOT believe Communion, or the Lord's Supper is just a symbol. We believe we ACTUALLY eat Jesus's body and drink His blood. However, we believe this is a spiritual, rather than a physical thing.

Covenant Theology
What makes Presbyterian theology unique? We believe ALL of Scripture is the unfolding of the SAME overarching Covenant. That means we are in the SAME Church as Adam, Abraham, and Moses!
